Dr. Hans Bichler, a passionate winemaker, farms 3.6 hectares of vineyards on the south-eastern slopes of the Leitha Mountains, which offer the perfect conditions for Burgundian varieties in particular.
Mica schist and limestone give a unique mineral note not only to Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but also to Burgenland's Blaufränkisch variety.
The "Bichler quality brand" is characterised by gentle processing of the grapes, a fully ripe crop, precise canopy management and yield reduction.
The delicious taste and aromatic character of the wine is determined mainly by the grape variety: Chardonnay and Pinot Gris for a fresh white wine; Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir for a full-bodied red wine. Weingut Bichler produces over 7000 bottles per year, of which 30% are white and 70% red wine.
Dr. Hans Bichler is a member of the Leithaberg Winzer, a collective of 15 famous Burgenland wine producers. Leithaberg wines are elegant wines for connoisseurs: the indigenous grape varieties, natural maturation processes, spontaneous fermentation and strict yield reduction results in quality wines with a distinctive character.
