    Three heartfelt hectares

The flavour of the prehistoric seabed with its weathered shell limestone, the smell of the nearby Puszta (the Hungarian Plains), the scorching midday sun and cool evening winds, local specialities such as Blaufränkisch and Burgundian vines such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir: wines that have unmistakably grown on the slopes of the Leitha Mountains, spontaneously fermented, made with care.

In 2021 Max Stiegl took over the former winery of Dr. Hans Bichler and continues to run it in the spirit and memory of the doctor. Max's good friends Bertl Gmeiner and Jörg Pretz take care of the work in the vineyard and cellar. You can taste and buy the wines in selected shops, at Gut Purbach and directly from the new winery in the main street of Purbach.
